Hard Core Decoys
Decoy Sets
- Decoy Tip - Don’t be afraid to put your decoys close to each other as it imitates the look of live geese.
- Decoy Tip - A small realistic decoy spread like Hard Cores are often times easier to control your geese to land where you want. A large spread can present problems because it can create to many landing holes and missed opportunities.
Flagging
- Flagging Tip - When geese are approaching your spread, pick and lay down a short handled flag simulating a goose landing. The best times to do this is when the flock of geese are just turning towards or away from the spread.
- Flagging Tip - While geese are on top of your spread conceal flag to keep from spooking the flock of geese your are trying to work in. A flag left laying on the ground is often called trash in your spread and something for weary geese to notice and leave.
Blinds
- Blind Tip - While building a blind near water make sure you are looking at your surroundings. It is key that you blend your blind with natural foliage the proper way. Make sure that it looks like your cover is growing up (Roots Down).
- Blind Tip - When deciding where to put your blind, keep in mind the prevailing wind and keep the sun at your back.
- Blind Tip - Try using lay down blinds on the edge of fields. This is an effective way to hide the profile of the blind.
